On Thursday, 11 September 2025, the Graduate School of Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), in collaboration with the Department of Statistics, hosted a Scientific Writing Workshop exclusively for doctoral students. The session was led by the renowned Professor Fabrizio Ruggeri, President Elect of the International Statistical Institute (ISI), former Editor-in-Chief of Applied Stochastic Models in Business and Industry (2007–2024), and Editor-in-Chief of Wiley Stats Ref: Statistics Reference Online.

Universitas Syiah Kuala’s Department of Statistics Hosts Academic Training on Bayesian Statistics with Prof. Fabrizio Ruggeri
On Tuesday, 9 September 2025, the Department of Statistics at Universitas Syiah Kuala hosted an advanced academic training session on Bayesian Statistics led by the esteemed Professor Fabrizio Ruggeri. The program attracted academic lecturers and researchers eager to expand their knowledge and application of Bayesian methods in both theoretical and practical contexts.

Master Course on Bayesian Statistics with Prof. Fabrizio Ruggeri
The Statistics Department of Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) organized the Master Course on Bayesian Statistics, a two-week intensive program held in a hybrid format (offline and online) on September 8, 10, 12, 16, and 19, 2025. The course aimed to strengthen participants’ skills in modern Bayesian methods for research and data analysis.

The 19th IMT-GT International Conference on Mathematics, Statistics and their Applications (ICMSA) 2024
This international conference is initiated by IMT-GT (Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle) consortium to promote mathematics and statistics in the region. Monetary Policy Statement
At its meeting today, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of Bank Negara Malaysia decided to maintain the Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) at 3.00 percent. The global economy continues to expand, driven by domestic demand amid strong labour market conditions. There are further signs of recovery in the electrical and electronics (E&E) sector, but global trade remains soft partly due to the continued shift in spending from goods to services, and ongoing trade restrictions. While China’s economy continues to show signs of improvement, its recovery remains modest given the weakness in the property market. 

Consumer Survey August 2022: Consumer optimism Growing
The latest Consumer Survey conducted by Bank Indonesia in August 2022 indicates growing consumer confidence in economic conditions.  This was reflected by an increase in the Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) from 123.2 in July 2022 to 124.7 in August 2022, which has consistently remained in optimistic territory with an index reading above 100.
